Sacramento, October 11, 2016 — To better serve its Central and Northern California clients on staying ahead of the rapidly changing automotive regulatory landscape, The Scali Law Firm today announced that it has expanded to Sacramento by adding Monica J. Baumann who, as CNCDA’s Director of Regulatory and Legislative Affairs, has overseen cutting edge, industry-affecting litigation, assisted in the preparation and presentation of new legislation affecting auto dealers in California, overseen the revision of a number of the CNCDA’s dealer manuals, spearheaded the first ever CNCDA Employment Law Manual, and presented numerous educational compliance seminars to auto dealers.

“Monica has an outstanding reputation in the auto dealer industry in California and nationally,” said Scali Law Firm founder Christian Scali. “Monica’s experience at the CNCDA has given her a deep understanding of emerging litigation, regulatory and legislative efforts and trends in the auto dealer retail sales industry. We have heard the requests of our Central and Northern California clients for a local auto dealer firm and have answered those requests with the addition of Monica, who will open and grow our Sacramento office. Monica’s contribution to the firm will complement the contributions of other firm leaders, including Bob Mizar, Melanie Joo and Bob Daniels.”

Monica has worked with dealers on a variety of federal and state regulatory matters. At CNCDA she formulated legal compliance strategies for dealer members in response to new legislation, legal developments, regulatory enforcement, and manufacturer policies. She frequently speaks at conferences and seminars on leading and emerging legal matters and has a national reputation among auto dealer associations.

Before joining the CNCDA, Monica also achieved much success advising and defending clients in a wide array of matters, including environmental compliance, employment, Lemon Law and Proposition 65 at a national law firm.

Monica will navigate the firm’s auto dealer clients through regulatory compliance and implement corporate compliance and ethics programs to protect auto dealers from liability. Her experience will further round out the firm’s auto dealer representation, complementing the firm’s auto dealer litigation and transactional practice areas. Monica can be reached at The Scali Law Firm — Sacramento, as follows:
