Founder and Managing Partner
Last week, the DOT released its new guidelines on the development of highly autonomous vehicles. Scali Law Firm managing partner, Christian J. Scali, comments on these guidelines in the Daily Journal's article titled New driverless car standards create a patchy road map, by staff reporter, Matthew Blake.
Scali said the guidance was enough to provide a road map for lawyers to advise companies... But the guidelines are also "broad and ambiguous," Scali said. It is not clear, for example, whether driverless cars can operate without a person in the car or traditional equipment including a steering wheel and breaks.
The Scali Law Firm has been following the development of autonomous vehicle regulations very closely and is recognized as a leader in the industry. In 2015 the Daily Journal recognized The Scali Law Firm for its “high degree of specialization” in the automotive industry and named it the top boutique automotive firm in California.
