This article, by Christian Scali, in the California New Car Dealers Association's fall edition of DRIVEN provides a primer on the basics of advertising compliance in the digital space with some answers to more advanced and frequently asked compliance questions concerning digital marketing and advertising.

While dealers still conduct print, radio and TV advertising, the most prolific form of dealer marketing is now digital, Internet and mobile advertising. This new way of conducting business raises new compliance issues that our industry has been slow to recognize and compliance measures that it has been slower to adopt. But throughout the past few years, enforcement agencies have aggressively enforced state and federal advertising laws against dealers.
