At Scali Rasmussen, diversity, inclusion and social justice are more than talking points. They are action items and a priority shared by all members of our firm.

Community empowerment and pro bono

Our support of community empowerment occurs on many fronts, and our depth of commitment is notable for a boutique-sized firm.

In 2020, we built upon a longstanding practice of promoting diversity at law schools and law firms with a substantial contribution to a newly established scholarship fund at Southwestern Law School for African American and/or Black students. Recent pro bono and sponsorship initiatives include contributing to nonprofits, organizations and professional associations, such as:

  • California Minority Counsel Program
  • Dress for Success
  • Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA)
  • LGBT Bar of Los Angeles
  • SAGE: Advocacy & Services for LGBT Elders
  • Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles

We are proud of a recent pro bono partnership with LAFLA in which we helped secure a million-dollar settlement for low-income, rent-controlled tenants in a lawsuit against their Santa Monica landlords.
